A few years ago, I attended a women’s Sunday school class where my instructor suggested that we pick a scripture and meditate on it throughout the week. Man, what a powerful exercise! All throughout the week, I would say quietly to myself the particular verse I had chosen.
To meditate means to think deeply or focus one’s mind for a period of time on a particular thing. What better thing is there to focus our minds on than the Word of God?
If you find yourself having a tough time, pick a scripture and start meditating (repeating) it to yourself throughout the day. It’s hard for the enemy to penetrate a mind that’s focused on the promises of God.
And so today, I’ve decided to start the practice again. Will you join me?
Here’s the verses I’m meditating on. May they soothe your soul and bring you much comfort this week!
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” — Psalm 91:1-2
